This is a great angle, and almost the inverse ( both true) of my current Substack main reading which addresses the LACK of activism in spiritual communities. For example the bulk of American Buddhist communities that have failed to speak out, or speak at all in the genocide in Palestine. Prioritising some kind of gaslit inner peace, donors, "reputation."
Really I think this is a line we must all learn to walk. Personal liberation and collective liberation co-existing. Learning how to be in both worlds. Not using our spirituality to bypass suffering or our activism to become disconnected and super low.
As an 18 yr old girl who has been feeling like I’m drowning in information right now I can’t explain how incredibly eye opening this was to read. The line about waiting on everyone else to tell you who you are hit so hard. I will be taking a step back from all the noise and discovering who I am and not letting others decide that for me.
I missed you! Been off social media since early this year (deleted all the accounts). My book The Altar Within speaks on the groundwork for both inner and collective liberation. Decolonizing wellness and guiding pro through the unveiling. A lot of what you said is in alignment with my the work I’ve been doing with my community for years and it is so much more vital now. I’ll be reaching out to you soon! Lots to catch up on 💋
thanks for this mind-blowing perspective and I love your writing! It’s also important to notice that the ones in power, the ones who want to distract us, destabilize our bodies and minds, who are eventually trying to control us, have to take away our peace first. that’s why in order to be able to criticize this system and fight it, we have to be at peace, be in harmony with ourselves, concentrate on our souls.
My last post is a meditation for anyone who experiences freeze/dissociation in general (but context was sexual trauma because of the Epstein files). I really enjoyed reading this thank you
Recently I’ve been researching a lot on the ancient practices of meditation within Hinduism. Exploring the scripture has broadly taught me exactly what you’ve written here. Thanks for sharing, this is really valuable.
“transforming yourself so deeply that your presence becomes activism.”👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Super pertinent timing. Thanks for saying this.

"All of it arrives once you stop begging the world to tell you who you are and start listening inward." Wow ❤️🙏🏾
“your peace becomes your rebellion” my new mantra. Ty Naley!
