This is amazing advice because so many of us are waiting for more - more money, more opportunities, bigger place to live, the fancy car. I had cancer 20 years ago and boy did that really fuck things up for me. But what came from it, money could never buy. Am I broke? Pretty much. SSDI doesn’t pay for groceries these days - BUT do I get to spend a shit ton of time with my kid? Hells yeah. Am I able to be 100% present with lupus? Nope. But he understands that mom needs 2-3 naps a day (and some days I get none) but I have not missed one school event, I get to walk to and from school while we talk about whatever is on his mind, I get to teach him the truth about this crazy world. I definitely have regrets pre-cancer, and I was broke then too but my fear overtook me (I didn’t know then I was AuDHD) and kept giving up. LIVE PEOPLE LIVE!! Max out some credit cards and F it - we aren’t here for long. Any of us could get that cancer dx next. Thank you Naley!!

you made me smile, as you are so much alike my being... it is a Blessing and a Freedom at the same time... that mmt of helping out a Friend and you not having a lot neither... I have same principle, I can help someone out while my money is not doing anything on my account, except helping the bank... and by the end we always will recover from it.

Strangely, what touches me the most in this is the generosity that breeds in people with no actual means to their name and how reading about your giving away money you didn't really have to spare chimed with my own feeling about how I want to be spending money for the rest of my life, to give away and spread out to people who have even less because, who cares who has it when it buys someone a bowl of soup and a room to sleep in. Our understanding of wealth and what it consists of and how finances do not have a really big role in it when we allow each other to to be fully human, in all its flawedness and vulnerability. How abundance is redefined by being surrounded by nature, art, culture, creativity, joy and the warmth of our shared physical presence might be the ultimate answer to the greedy destruction governing our world in these dark times of what has befallen us and that becomes apparent in all facets of our lives in this struggle to survive these hostile ages.
